The Tower of Love

"For the Lord is my tower and he gives me the power. The righteous run into it and they are saved."

Today, we discussed about the Tower of Babel.

Sis. Amber led the prayer. Sis. Shiervic and Sis. Pearl led the children in singing kiddie praise and worship for God.

Motivation: I greeted everyone and I said, "Konichiwa!" They all just stared at me. I repeated what I said. Then one asked what I mean. I said it means hello! I asked them to imagine how it would be if each of us speaks a different language that the others do not understand. They answered my question and I told them that something like that actually happened.

Scripture: We read the story of the Tower of Babel from a book entitled Bible Stories for Children.

Processing: After reading, I asked them the following questions:
  • Why do you think they wanted to build a tower that reaches heaven?
  • Would you do something like that?
  • What does the story teach us about God?
  • How do we know that what we are doing is according to what God wants us to do?
  • How do we show humility?
Output: I asked them to find a partner for the activity. I asked them to create a tower with the materials that I provided. Unlike the Tower of Babel, God is on the top of the tower and their names are at the bottom of the tower. On top, it says "We love you God". Here are the results:

Snack time!

They practiced their special number for next Sunday.

The closing prayer was led by Bro. Franz.
